The Art of Sniping in NHL 11

This is by far my favourite way to score. 5 on 5, a defender or 2 in front of me, and I light the lamp cleanly.

Difficulty: 8/10 when in All-Star + Normal mode & 2/10 when in Pro + Default mode

Shooter: Sniper
Technique:
1. Get your sniper to the top of the slot (middle of the ice, tops of the circles or deeper)
2. Pull back the puck and hold it or dangle to confuse the goalie and evade defenders
3. While (With a left-hander) skating to the right
4. Fire left to the top shelf, over the blocker.

Notes: One way I've found to get in position at the top of the slot without getting hammered by d-men is to rush straight down the middle, then slow (not stop) just as I'm entering the slot. This gives me enough room to make things happen.

well this is not a beautiful goal ... its a glitch. No art of sniping in that.

have you ever shot top shelf with a puck directly in front of you? you have to pull the thing back to get air under it, so that's why it's in the game

Look heres the deal. this isnt art of sniping these are cheese/ glitch shots.

The art of sniping comes from setups. like wheeling the puck around using the d man good puck movement and then setting your sniper up. Not these goals from the rush

This is just a glitch in the game, thanks for pointing out and showing the world. If you showed ANY sort of variety then maybe you wouldn't be called a glitcher.

seems to me like you're playing on easy mode so your skill level is lame.

I think none of you guys have ever actually played hockey before.. besides sitting on your butt in a living room. As a defender, or even someone who the coach trusts to be put in a position to make these shots, You're taught to aim for the stick hand of the goalie, upper top shelf. Because it's much harder to block a shot with your stick hand up top, than with the glove hand.. no glitch here. Just a realistic hockey game.

haha your coach taught you to aim for one spot on net no matter what.. wow you think you know the game but you really dont.. a 'snipe' is very commonly a quick shot.. not those slow glitchy shots you take.. everyone seems to know it except you..

i AGREE you guys dont know shit about hockey you just play the game but never have actually played the sport...stupid pussies

this is not a glitch, in hockey there are two types of wrist shots a rip shot which is taken from longer range range and requires you to pull it back so you can get more flex out of the stick and get enough steam on the puck, you also change the foot you put weight on for more support. in real life this shot would be easier to score with for someone with a hard shot especially if they are in the slot, obviously. i dont even know hockey that much and i know that. this "glitch shot" has been in the series for awhile so im sure it was intentional.

Nice Glitch, Learn to play the right way and then maybe you can make videos about "Secrets of the Pros"...

"Omg such a glitch goal.."

Get over it you knobs. Its not a glitch, he's taking a shot that the goalie has a hard time stopping. 4 out of 5 times he's screened.

I better learn to play "the right way" and shoot the puck at the goalies team logo on his chest in hopes that I score. That's what all the pros do..
